In the present investigation, we report the biophysical and biological properties of the ornithinyl-cysteinyl tetradecylamide (C_(14)COrn)。 This new dimerizable detergent condenses plasmid DNA into monomolecular particles of 30 nm。 This complexes are mobile in agarose gel and exhibit a typical lipid/DNA supramolecular structure。 When the complexes are large and cationic they show a transfection efficiency comparable to that obtained with the most potent vectors。
