Technological Advancements and Prospect of Petroleum Development in China

扫码查看
China petroleum industry has arrived at great achievements in the past 50 years since the foundation of the new China。 The annual oil production had been increased from 120 thousand tons in 1949 to 160 million tons in 1999, making China one of the major oil producers in the world。 Along with the progress, a series of integrated oil and gas development technologies in geology, reservoir engineering, drilling and production have been formed which are applicable to reservoirs with the features of continental deposit, high teterogeneity, viscous crude and low natural energy。 At present there are still quite big potentials in terms of resource, technology and economy in petroleum exploitation in the country, and the established technologies will continue to play a great part。 But we are being faced with the challenges of improving oil recovery in the matured oilfields, exploiting the marginal reserves, and developing the new and complicated reservoirs。 However there have already been significant progresses and breakthroughs in advanced secondary and enhanced oil recovery, reservoir characterization with fracture recognition and distribution prediction, efficient reservoir modification and complex well technologies。 Petroleum development in China will be becoming more and more prosperous with science and technology advancements。
