A 3-D mixed finite-element/boundary-element model for the simulation of periodic ultrasound transducers radiating in layered media

A model based on the combination of finite-element analysis and boundary-element method is presented to address the problem of periodic transducers radiating in stratified media mixing fluids and solids。 The mathematical principle of the computation is described, and numerical results are reported for standard three-dimensional transducers as well as micromachined ultrasonic transducers (MUTs)。
