Adaptive Dynamic COCOMO II in Cost Estimation

Software Engineering Measurement and Analysis initiative have been in the center of many firms to develop cost estimation。 Among the recognized models used in software cost estimation is the COCOMO II model。 The COCOMO II research was aimed at adapting original COCOMO by setting inputs and outputs of its submodels to the level of information available。 Further calibration on COCOMO II model was based on multiple regression approach and Bayesian analysis。 In this paper the author explores an adaptive COCOMO II model for dynamic cost prediction。 The technique is demonstrated on the Post-Architecture model but it can work for all COCOMO models。 It is customized for the user by improving model after each effort value is determined。 The adjustment of the factor for the COCOMO formula occurs after the project is ended。 The new factors will be used for next cost estimation via this technique。
