The study and management of biodiversity and of nature's services are the key research foci of the discipline of Ecosystem Management. Ecosystem Management simply means the manipulation of land and waterscapes for human ends. Accordingly, academic staff works in a broad range of environments with varied resource uses including nature conservation, mining, forestry and agriculture. The biodiversity that is the focus of management is composed of both indigenous and exotic biota. Most importantly, as a 'management' discipline, staff recognizes the importance and legitimacy of social, economic and political concerns as well as ecological considerations, and the need to encompass a broad range of spatial and temporal scales in devising socio-economic and biophysical solutions to natural resource management problems. This paper deals with Ecosystem Management and its related components. The content themes discussed in multiple area and principle and constituents of ecosystem management have been discussed in this paper. It outlines the possible ways of managing biodiversity focusing on holistic resources management principles.
