Study on Combustion Characteristics of Diesel - Methanol Blends

扫码查看
A stabilized and well-mixed diesel-methanol blend was realized by adding additives and supersonic treatment。 The combustion analysis of the diesel-methanol blend was made in a DI diesel engine under the same excess air ratio condition。 The study showed that increase of methanol mass fraction in diesel-methanol blends would result in the increase of heat release rate in premixed burning phase and the maximum heat release rate moved toward the top-dead-center (TDC) 。 Ignition delay increased with the increase of methanol mass fraction and the behavior was more obviously at medium/low engine load and high engine speed。 The total combustion duration of blend was shortened with the increase of methanol mass fraction。 Maximum cylinder gas pressure increased with the increase of methanol mass fraction, while maximum cylinder gas temperature remained almost unchangeable。
