Velocity separation in two-phase flow and its measurement using cross-correlation method

This paper discusses the velocity separation in two-phase flow and the application of corss-corelation technique in two-phase flow measurement。 In the case of large density difference, there is a velocity separation between different media, making the measurement more difficult, cross-correlation method is still usable。 Two typical forms of velocity separation are described。 Some useful conclusions are drawn from the experimental results in a liquid-gas two-phase flow pipes。 In vertical pipes, the deviation of the phase distribution is avoided, and the flow distributions are more radially symmetrical, making the flow velocity measurement easier than in the case of horizontal flow。 Generally, the results of corss-correlation measurement are closely related to the velocity of the carried medium。
