Study on the Effects of Cutting Parameters of Moso Bamboo on Cutting Forces

扫码查看
The effects of cutting parameters, the tool rake angle, chips thickness and velocity, of moso bamboo(Phyllostachys pubesens Mazel ex H. de Leh) on cutting forces are studied in orthogonal cutting mode on this paper, with a constant clearance angle of 10°. Both of the rake angle of the tool and the cutting thickness have significant effects on the cutting forces. The parallel tool force is negatively logarithmically correlated with the rake angle of the tool and positively logarithmically correlated with the cutting thickness. The effect of the rake angle on normal tool force is complicated. The normal force is negatively logarithmically correlated with the cutting depth. It is found that under the range of 6m/s, cutting velocity has little effect on cutting force.
