Soybean hypocotyl cuttings were used to explore effects of phytohormones on adventitious root formation and interactions between them。 Results demonstrated that auxin and ethylene both stimulated adventitious rooting, especially at the level of 200 μm IAA or 100 μM ethephon, GA_3 and BA inhibited adventitious rooting。 The period of 0-24 h after excision was very sensitive to stimulatory effect of 100 MM ethephon。 Ethylene had a synergic role with IAA and SA in adventitious rooting, and counteracted rooting-inhibiting effect of GA_3 and BA in soybean cuttings。 So we concluded that adventitious rooting in soybean was highly hormone-regulated。
