Impact of trace elements on yield and qualitative parameters of newly developed mutants and commercial varieties of cotton was investigated by using five nutritional levels: F0 (0 kg N ha~(-1)), F1 (150 kg N ha~(-1)), F2 (200 kg N ha~(-1)), F3 (150 kg N ha~(-1) + 0。1% Zinc and 0。1% Boron (three foliar applications at 60,90 and 120 days after planting) and F4 (200 kg N ha~(-1)+ 0。1 Zinc and 0。1% Boron (three foliar applications at 60, 90 and 120 days after plantation)。 Maximum fruit setting was recorded in NIAB-111, FH-1000 and CIM-499 having values 37。33%, 40。62% and 42。66% respectively at F4 while in NIAB-98 with 31。13% at F3。 Highest reduction in badly open bolls up to 50% was found in NIAB-111 with the application of F3 nutritional level。 Significantly higher seed cotton yield 5164 kgha~(-1) resulted in NIAB-111 at F3 followed by 4949 kgha~(-1) in NIAB-98 at F4, 4734 kgha~(-1) in NIAB-999 and 4734 kgha~(-1) in CIM-499 at the same nutritional level (F4)。
