Since the indoor air represents a major part of the built environment, fast, accurate and sensitive determination of volatile organic compounds in emission sources such as decorative material, which influence indoor air quality, is of great importance。 In this paper, a method of the determination for volatile organic compounds in wallpaper used as decorative materials was applied by headspace solid-phsase microextraction (HS-SPME) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS)。 Fifty-eight VOCs were identified in ten kinds of wallpaper samples, including twenty-eight alkanes, five alkenes, an alcohols, two aldehydes, eleven aromatic compounds, three ketones and eight esters。 The results show the major components emitted by the wallpaper were alkane, aromatic compound and ester, and all of samples chosen had emitted aromatic compounds。
