Stable Surface Modification of Poly (dimetylsiloxane) (PDMS) Microchannels for the Increase of Solvent Resistance

A simple fabrication method of solvent resistance microfluidic devices and hydrophilic/hydrophobic microfluidic devices is described。 Poly (dimetylsiloxane)-based microfluidic devices was modified with polyurethane and hydrophilic polymer。 Polyurethane having hydrophobic property prevents the swelling of PDMS via organic solvent。 By contrast, because hydrophilic polymer (D3。5) has strong hydrophilic property of surface after the modification of PDMS channel, we can easily control the distinctive surface properties with preservation of solvent resistance proerty。 The proposed method will be useful for the fabrication of microfluidic devices or microreactors for organic reactions。
