It is known that semicrystalline polymers such as polypropylene can be processed in solid-state when the temperature is above the Tg and below the Tm。 A significant amount of work has been devoted to understanding the processing-structure-property (P-S-P) relationships in polymers under solid-state deformation。 However, the vast majority of the work has focused on the tensile deformation, while little work is on the shear mode。 The reason might be a lack of effective methods to impose simple shear on polymers。 The equal channel angular extrusion (ECAE) [1] process has been identified as an advantageous method of inducing bulk simple shear into materials。 Great changes of the structure of polymers can be achieved through ECAE process from micrometer scale to nanometer scale[2,3], therefore enable enhanced properties。
