Using RS232 serial port the communication between digital multimeter and computer in LabVIEW was realized。 The Digital Multimeter can be directly operated from a computer across the RS232 interface。 By inputting the corresponding command， the operator can control the multimeter， read its measurement values and display the data on the front panel by computer。 Serial port communication based on LabVIEW has simple， reliable and stable characteristics。 It has a good real-time speciality。 It can measure and deal with the data with high speed， and meet user’s needs satisfactorily。
