外文摘要：In this paper the Finnish ENVISAT CAL/VALprojectas well as some results obtained in the projectwill be presented。 The project has three major objectives。One objective is to implement an operationaldata processing chain， the other is to analyze the effectof different ice properties on the SAR signatureand its statistics mainly through empirical backscatterstudies， and the third is to develop an automatedimage interpretation system for sea ice mapping。
