AN INTEGRATED LINEAMENT ANALYSIS FROM SATELLITE IMAGES

There are number of methods used for extracting and analyzing lineaments from satellite images。 The goal of this study is to provide a broad as pect for lineam ent analysis by combining the lineam ent extraction techniques。 The m ethod proposed in this study consists of four main steps: (1) defining input data， (2) preprocessing of the satellite image， (3) extracting of lineaments from satellite images by using interactive visual lineament interpretation techniques or automatic techniques (4) interpreting the lineaments using ancillary data。 Ancillary data selecte d in this study are SRTM elevation data ， drainage m ap， gravity data， magnetic data， rock unit map and road maps。 The method is applied to the area between Ankara and Bolu。 It is shown that a substantial improvement in lineament analysis can be achieved by this method。
