Tree Species Classification and Forest Stand Delineation Based on Remote Sensing Data -Large Scale Monitoring of Biodiversity in the Forest

扫码查看
Forest inventory is a prerequisite for sustainable forest management and an ideal source to monitor biodiversity in the forest Current developments in the area of remote sensing - the increase in availability of large scale aerial LIDAR and multispectral image data or imaging satellite data as well as the increased spatial resolution - allow for cost-effective stand-wise calculation of inventory data for large landscapes。 An integrated approach, combining new tree species classification and forest stand delineation techniques, which provides new means for large scale forest inventory will be described。 It results in a close-to-reality description of the forest based on remote sensing data。
