In this paper, the ultrafiltration (UF) is applied to decrease the inorganic ash content of black liquor from aspen alkaline sodium sulfite anthraquinone (ASAQ) pulping process。 Some parameters which may affect the efficiency of ash content decrement in black liquor were investigated, such as the molecular weight cut-off of the ultrafiltration membrane, the solids content of black liquor, operating pressure and the percentage of the filtered liquor volume。 The results show that the inorganic permeation rate increases and ash content decreases with the increase of the operating pressure; the effect of membrane molecular weight on ash content decrement is not obvious。 The inorganic ash content in the ultrafiltrated black liquor decreases to 23。8% (or decreases by 7。5 percents) and the lignin cutoff rate is 70。87% when the optimized conditions are as follows: the molecular weight cut-off 10000, the percentage of permeation filtrate volume 60%, black liquor solids content 10% and operating pressure 0。25 MPa。
