Studies on photonic crystal based Add Drop Filter by varying the dimension of inner rods

In this paper two dimensional Photonic Crystal Ring Resonator (2D PCRR) based Add Drop Filter (ADF) is designed and the effect of variation of center rod radius in the inner cavity is studied。 The coupling efficiency and dropping efficiency, Q factor and passband width of the ADF are investigated with and without using scatterer rods。 The 2D Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) method is used to obtain the normalized transmission spectra of the filter。 The propagation modes and Photonic Band Gap (PBG) of the designed structure is calculated by using Plane Wave Expansion (PWE) method。 Close to 99% of dropping efficiency and 100% of coupling efficiency with 11 nm of passband width are obtained for 0。9 µm of center rod radius。
