The Characteristics of Friction and Wear of Deformed Cast Al-Pb Bearing Alloy

A series of stir-cast Al-Pb alloys with lead content from 0 to 25 wt。% has been produced using a new foundrytechnique followed by rolling。 Wear tests were carried out on the MM200 wear machine to determine friction and wearcharacteristics of the Al -Pb alloys。 The results show the wear amount and friction coefficient of cast Al -Pb alloy varieswith the increase of lead content, At about 15wt。%Pb there are minimum value in bulk wear and in the coefficient offriction。 Optical and scanning electron microscopy were e mployed to investigate the mechanism of friction and wear。
