Investigations were carried out to assess the performance of different sugarcane genotypes under agro-climatic condition of Pune (Peninsular zone) during sum season in 2009-10。 Six sugarcane genotypes namely Co 0409, Co 0415, Co 0416, CoM 0316, MS 0301 and CoSnk 03822 along with two national standards Le。 Co 86032 and Co 7219 were evaluated for their cane yield, yield components and quality performance subsequently in two plant crops。 The pooled results over two plant crops revealed that genotypes MS 0301 and Co 0416 was found significantly superior in cane yield (t/ha) and they are at par in sugar yield (t/ha) than the standard Co 86032。 Genotype CoM 0316 was highest in sucrose % as well as commercial cane sugar per cent over standard Co 86032。 None of the genotype was found significantly superior for number of millable canes ('000) per hectare over Co 86032, while in case of single cane weight (kg) genotypes MS 0301, CoM 0316 and Co 0416 were significantly superior over Co 86032。 These genotypes will be planted in different agroclimatic zones of Maharashtra to confirm the results obtained。
