In this paper,an experimental study was reported for four exterior beam-to-column joints subjected to monotonic loading。 The composite extended endplate joints undergoing tests are constructed using a novel connection method of blind bolting steel beams to hollow columns filled with concrete。 To investigate the influences of the column section type and the thickness of the endplate, the moment-rotation relationships and failure models of the extended endplate connections have been measured and analyzed。 The stiffness, moment capacities and ductility of the tested connections are also evaluated。 It is found that the blind bolted extended endplate connection, which is semi-rigid and of full strength, has high strength and stiffness, and its rotation capacity satisfies the ductility requirement of no less than 30 mrad for earthquake-resistance。
