This paper investigates representational predicaments, which are defined as problematic phenomena, characterized by a job incumbent's belief that assumptions held by a key authority within the organization about the nature or quality of his/her work, and/or about his/her competence, are incomplete, inaccurate or distorted in ways that are unfavorable to that incumbent (Snell et al。,2008; Snell & Wong, 2009)。 We report a study that examines the incidence of perceived representational predicaments among Chinese job incumbents in Hong Kong。 We also explore these incumbents'concerns and endeavors to obtain fair and accurate evaluations of their competences or job performance。
