Applying the Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) Design Method to Low Volume Roads

扫码查看
The Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) is a simple, cheap and effective apparatus for assessing the bearing capacity of in situ materials for the design of new roads or the upgrading of unsealed or existing sealed roads。 Although a number of methods have been described for the use of the DCP for the design of low volume roads, no comprehensive method has been published。 This paper summarizes the investigation, analysis and design techniques for application of this very useful and cost-effective design method taking into account traffic and environmental conditions。 Use of the method is illustrated by actual design examples。
