A classification technique of torreya grandis seed,based on artificial neural networks,is presented in this paper.In the proposed technique,a sensor array in electronic nose is used as a detection tool in order to obtain the volatile gas information of torreya grandis seeds.And then the gas information is sent to the artificial neural networks,by which the classification of torreya grandis seed can be identified.Four different types of torreya grandis seeds were used to verify the effectiveness of the proposed technique.It is demonstrated that the classification accuracy is higher than 70%.
