In this study, it is attempted that mapping of the degradation grassland using MODIS imagery considering the number and livestock composition from 2000 to 2006。 Firstly it is generated that distribution map by MODIS LAI using biomass estimation equation which is derived from in-situ measurement of biomass with geo-located match up database。 Secondary biomass is calculated quantity required for feeding in each county which is administrative boundary of Mongolia (soum) using number data of livestock from 2000 to 2006。 Thirdly, degradation intensity is weighted by overgrazing area which has many livestock exceeding grazing capacity and many goats as high grazing intensity。 As result, the 19 counties are extracted as high risk for degradation grasslands, these areas are located in south region of Mongolia。
