外文摘要：This paper describes the impact of emerging trends and technology in western higher education on academic libraries。 These trends present several challenges， as well as opportunities for them。 The paper discusses some useful approaches and strategies to overcome these challenges and exploit the opportunities。 The purpose of this paper is to raise awareness about emerging trends and technologies among librarians to stimulate innovation which would help them to transform their libraries。
