Annoying floor vibrations were experienced by office personnel on an upper floor of a downtown Toronto high-rise building。 A detailed investigation was carried out to determine the source of the vibration and its path。 Investigation of the problem showed the unwanted vibration was due to rhythmic human activity at 2。6Hz, approximately six (6) to eight (8) floors above。 Detailed information will be presented on the methodology of data collection, the determination of the source of the activity and how such an activity could affect floors 6 to 8 floor below。 Information will also be provided on potential mitigation solutions for vibration at this frequency。
