Traffic safety is an important issue in the field of transportation。 National traffic safety experts have carried out a very rich and comprehensive work。 Some relevant factors， security technology， and improvement strategies of traffic safety are obtained。 This paper reviewed the important research of traffic safety from the beginning of the last century to 2014， and the development process of traffic accident research was summarized since the "unlucky" view in the beginning to "multi-factors system" today。 Then the accident factors were analyzed and concluded， and combined to present the situation of traffic safety research in China。 Finally， this paper proposed the key points and development trends in the future of traffic safety research in China based on the comparative analysis results from the depth and breadth angle of foreign study。
