Recently, power systems have become more complicated. Further occurrence of multi-swing step-out is an issue of concern in a longitudinal power system such as the Japanese power system. For operating those power systems, a fast and accurate analysis of the transient stability is necessary. In this paper, we propose a novel judgement method of the transient stability using the time domain equal-area criterion.
