When the high voltage electrical equipment using the insulating oil operates in coastal areas, there is a possibility that the salt-water penetrates the insulating oil. We observed the effect of the NaCl aqueous solution on AC breakdown properties of the vegetable-oil-based insulating fluid. These results were showed as the following: (i) AC electric strength (Fb) decreased with the increase of water content, (ii) The effect of NaCl concentration on Fb was not described.
