A study on investigation of slip minimization under different drag coefficients has been presented。 Mathematical equations of a decelerating vehicle were obtained using quarter-car model。 These equations were transformed into their equivalent Simulink block。 A two degree of freedom proportional integral and derivative (2DOFPID) controller was designed in Simulink。 The designed controller was integrated with Simulink blocks of a vehicle。 Implementation was carried-out in MatLab/Simulink environment。 The results obtained showed that during hard braking, with slip being controlled, the aerodynamic drag contributed significantly to performance of the system by aiding the stopping distance improvement of a braking vehicle。 This invariably enhanced accident avoidance during hard braking。
