Speed Tracking of Spark Ignition Engines using Higher Order Sliding Mode Control

扫码查看
The engine speed depends on the torque demand and load torque acting on the engine。 The purpose of speed tracking is to keep the engine speed at prescribed set-points in the presence of disturbances。 In this article, a speed tracking control strategy is proposed for spark ignition engines。 Higher order sliding mode-based control algorithm is formulated for the speed tracking。 The proposed methodology is applied to the novel first principle based engine model of the spark ignition engine instead of the mean value engine model。 The fuel mass injected per combustion cycle is controlled by super-twisting algorithm based control scheme to robustly achieve the desired objective。 The controller is implemented in MATLAB/Simulink and simulation results demonstrated validity of the proposed technique。
