Contact Stress Calculation for Lubrication State Determination of Ball Bearings

This paper presents a procedure for the lubrication state analysis in double-row angular contact ball bearing。 During this procedure, the Elastic contact theory, Stribeck's model, and Sjovall's model are applied。 Besides, a detailed calculation of oil film thickness in elasto-hydrodynamic lubrication (EHL) elliptical contact zone is given。 With the ratio relationship between the minimum oil film thickness and the roughness of the contact surface, the film thickness ratio (lambda ratio) can be calculated and the lubrication state can be evaluated。
