CRISPR-Cas12a-Based Detection of SARS-CoV-2 Harboring the E484K Mutation

SARS-CoV-2 is constantly and rapidly evolving→increasing its transmission and disease1。Some mutations like the E484K create a canonical PAM for Cas12a which can be exploited to obtain a differential readout。We report the exploitation of CRISPR-Cas12 to analyse a series of fecal samples from real patients,finding one infection carrying the E484K mutation。
