This paper reports the prolongation of the effect of the surface activation using self-assembled monolayer (SAM)for room temperature direct bonding of Au. The SAM protection of Au enables room temperature bonding evenafter 100 h exposure, which provides a new approach of packaging of electronics including MEMS sensors.
