Finite Element Approximation to the Elliptic Variational Inequality of the Second Kind

Finite element methods for the elliptic variational inequality of the second kind deduced fromfriction problems or nonlinear materials in elasticity have been discussed by R.Glowinski. In this paper, thefinite element method with numerical integration for the second type elliptic variational inequality isconsidered and an error estimate is proved.We discussed domain decomposition methods for thevariational inequality of the second kind considered here.The multiplicative domain decomposition methods andadditive domain decomposition methods were proposed.The convergence of the method was obtained.
