Businesses have many objectives which include survival,achieving and sustaining competitive advantage,growth and being profitable. These objectives cannot be achieved without the human resource. The human resource is said to be the most important resource since the quality and quantity of other resources are based on mostly on the practices that human resources in an organizational set up undertake. These Human resource practices have environmental forces or actors that can either positively or negatively affect its ability to achieve its objectives. These environmental forces are both external,which is outside the organization as well as internal,that is within the organization The research focused on whether indeed these environmental forces have impact on human resource practices in and if so,the research seeks to rank the environmental forces in order of importance as far as their impacts are concerned. In order to undertake this research,a very vibrant company in the telecommunications industry which is Vodafone Ghana was used as a case study. The findings of the research indicated that,these environmental forces have impact on the human resource activities on Vodafone Ghana. Furthermore,in order of importance,the internal environmental factor that affect Vodafone's HRM practices the most is organizational culture followed by organizational structure,business strategy and organizational power and politics respectively. Additionally,in order of importance,the external environmental factor that affect Vodafone's HRM practices the most is the economic environmental factors followed by political environmental factor,technological environmental factor and socio-cultural environmental factor respectively. Thus,Vodafone Ghana would have to use information gathered from environmental actors and forces in order to undertake human resource activities.
