    Food waste and its determinants during the COVID-19 pandemic in Thailand and Indonesia: a case study of undergraduate students' households

    查看更多>>摘要:The objective of the research is to estimate the amount of household food waste (FW) and its determinants。 The sample of this study is 394 Srinakharinwirot University (SWU) and 396 Gadjah Mada University (UGM) undergraduate students' households。 As shown by the results, economic losses of FW in the total number of households of SWU and UGM undergraduate students should be asserted because in 2023, they will reach about 370,799。35 USD and 527,315。95 USD, respectively。 In addition, both cases reveal that the main FW items are those which originate from meat, eggs, vegetables and fruit, as well as rice and noodles, while leftovers are the main contributor to most household FW generation。 The estimated Tobit model in both cases concludes that the independent variables, which are age of the household head, food expenditure, family size, area, and moral attitude, have impacts on the amount of FW。

    查看更多>>摘要:The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of different factors like environmental concern, health concern, concern for the producers, ethics, safety, attributes of food, awareness, trust, and hedonic value on the attitude of the customers and to provide a model to show the impacts of these variables on the attitude of the customers after COVID-19。 To understand the behaviour of customers, a questionnaire has been developed from the previous literature, and the data of 500 respondents has been collected from Punjab state in India in 2023。 The final collected data has been analysed, and the model has been confirmed with the help of structural equation modelling (SEM)。 According to the findings, environmental concerns, health concerns, concerns for producers, ethics, safety, attributes of food, awareness, trust and hedonic value, have a substantial and positive impact on the attitude of the customers。 With the help of this model, organic food businessmen can frame marketing strategies for the production and promotion of organic food。

    查看更多>>摘要:COVID-19 pandemic has posed new challenges for the Egyptian hospitality industry, requiring it to ensure its sustainability。 This study investigates how environmental management practices can achieve sustainability by implementing management measures。 It examines the effectiveness of approaches such as e-marketing, utility rationalisation, and environmental excellence practices in improving hotel performance and profitability。 The findings emphasise the importance of enhancing sustainability and efficiency in hotel utilities, resource usage rationalisation, and environmental excellence management to enhance the sustainability and performance of hotels, particularly in the post-COVID-19。 The study highlights the significant impact of e-marketing as a tool for guest communication, raising awareness about environmental protection, and promoting sustainability。 This study contributes to the sustainability of water resources by identifying factors that contribute to the long-term survival of the Egyptian hospitality industry。 It provides valuable insights for managers and stakeholders in the hospitality industry who are striving to sustain themselves amidst unprecedented challenges。

    How varying population ageing, urbanisation, and institutional quality affect carbon dioxide emissions in South Asia: macro-level evidence

    查看更多>>摘要:Rising carbon dioxide emissions in South Asia are a long-run challenge。 Over the last two decades, population ageing, and urbanisation have also been rising, further stimulating carbon dioxide emissions。 Meanwhile, institutions are increasingly involved in efforts to mitigate environmental degradation。 The extent to which these factors affect carbon emissions is not fully understood, particularly within South Asia。 The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of population ageing, urbanisation, and the institutional quality on per capita carbon emissions in South Asia from 1996 to 2019 based on theoretical background and empirical analysis。 The results of the study come through CS-ARDL uncovered that population ageing and urbanisation has both induced carbon emissions in Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka。 Institutional quality, however, has reduced carbon emissions across the region。 Furthermore, we applied CCE-MG as a robust panel estimation technique to verify our results。

    Interplay of green bonds and macroeconomic dynamics in Middle East and North Africa: comprehensive literature review and bibliometric analysis (2006-2023)

    查看更多>>摘要:This research aimed to conduct a systematic literature review of the existing scientific literature on green bonds and macroeconomic dynamics in Middle East and North African (MENA) countries。 The rationale for undertaking a comprehensive literature review on the relationship between green bonds, macroeconomic variables, and their consequences for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region arises from the urgent necessity to tackle the intertwined issues of sustainable development and economic expansion。 Firstly, a quantitative study with tables, graphs, and maps summarises the state of the green bonds and macroeconomics dynamics in MENA, focusing on the key performance indicators of article output。 A total of 654 items were located by the results。 Secondly, an inductive analysis of secondary literature that includes 95 articles was done, and relevant macroeconomic theories/principals for understanding the impact of green bonds, various green bond initiatives and challenges in integrating green bonds into the MENA financial landscape were identified。 Finally, a literature gap was identified and exploring the impact of green bonds on promoting environmental consciousness and influencing the investment and consumption patterns of individuals was concluded as novel opportunities for scholarly inquiry。
