    Manpower, institution and the growth of knowledge economy in Shanghai

    查看更多>>摘要:This paper examines the concept of Knowledge economy, manpower, high-educated laborers with innovative capabilities, institutional problems and their relations. It argues that manpower is the Key element for the growth of knowledge economy in general, and people with innovative capabilities are the centre of manpower in particular. In Shanghai, although great progress has been made concerning with the reforms and development of high-tech industry, institutional problems are still the main obstacles for further development of high educated labor market and then the growth of knowledge economy. The reasons have been: l) a less effective mechanism with the remaining of state ownership system; 2 ) a still powerful bureaucratic system, or more precisely, bureaucratic practice referring to these. Suggestions for further reforms and policy reformulation have been examined and discussed in the end.

    查看更多>>摘要:The study prefiles and explains the significant changes that have taken place in Chna's spatial development patterns since the inception of this economic reform and opening two decades ago. Princial component anlaysis is used to delineate spatial patterns. The analyses show that prior to the Reform China's spatial development pattern was characterized by the dominance of the three Municipalites and the Northeast, as well as by both the coast-interior and the north-sough disparities. Northern provinces were generally more industrialized and economically powerful than the southern Ones.

Being one of the two basic strategies of china in the new era, sustainable development plays a directive role in the coordinated development of socio economy, natural resources and ecology of Fujian. This paper analyses some important issues influencing sustainable development in Fujian in the next 20 years, such as the sustainable development of economy, investment environment improving and further opening to the outside, urbanization and coordinated development of city system, rational exploitation of natural resources, environmental conservation and ecological rehabilitation, and narrowing intraprovincial gap. Corresponding countermeasures are put forward.

The urban-rural networking is a reality of urban-rural networking development. As a physical existence, the urban-rural networking reflects a result of the interaction between cities and rural areas; it is a necessary and sufficient condition for sustaining progress of cities and rural areas. As an objective developmental tendency, it reflects an urban-rural regional economic process. The author briefly analyzes two contradictory urban-rural developmental views, and puts forward a concept of the mode of urban-rural networking development. The author also analyzes the mode form the perspectives of economics and philosophy.

Much remains to be done before the small scale, process level understanding of ecosystem responses to global change can be reliably translated to larger scales. By typical field investigations we foud that China's development areas have the characteristics of abundant categories, excessive quantities, large scales and dense localities in coastlands, border areas and river banks. And their utilization have 4 features of mainly collecting and occupying agricultural lands, minor rebuilding of old city; mainly taking up cultivated land, minor exploiting and utilizing barren mountains and bleak sloping lands; collecting and occupying lands at first, utilizing afterwards; using large quantities of lands but obtaining comparatively fewer benefits.

It studies the relationship between the reference values of healthy old people's hematocrit, tested according to the Wintrobe Laws and five geographical factors. It is found that the altitude is the most important factor affecting the reference value of old people's hematocrit.
