A 12-month prospective study on the time to hospitalization and clinical management of a cohort of bipolar type I and schizoaffective bipolar patients

Vieta, EduardMurru, AndreaVerdolini, NormaCarvalho, Andre F....
    8页
查看更多>>摘要:Background: Schizoaffective disorder, bipolar type (SAD) and bipolar disorder I (BD) present a large clinical overlap. In a 1-year follow-up, we aimed to evaluate days to hospitalization (DTH) and predictors of relapse in a SAD-BD cohort of patients.

Impulsivity and cognitive distortions in different clinical phenotypes of gambling disorder: Profiles and longitudinal prediction of treatment outcomes

    Magana, PabloMallorqui-Bague, NuriaVintro-Alcaraz, CristinaVerdejo-Garcia, Antonio...
    8页
查看更多>>摘要:Background: Impulsivity and cognitive distortions are hallmarks of gambling disorder (GD) but it remains unclear how they contribute to clinical phenotypes. This study aimed to (1) compare impulsive traits and gambling-related distortions in strategic versus non-strategic gamblers and online versus offline gamblers; (2) examine the longitudinal association between impulsivity/cognitive distortions and treatment retention and relapse.

Autistic traits in individuals self-defining as transgender or nonbinary

    Stagg, Steven D.Vincent, Jaime
    6页
查看更多>>摘要:Background: Autism spectrum traits are increasingly being reported in individuals who identify as transgender, and the presence of such traits have implications for clinical support. To-date little is known about autism traits in individuals who identify as nonbinary.

Olfactory neuroepithelium alterations and cognitive correlates in schizophrenia

    Bertocci, IgorSolmi, MarcoToffanin, TommasoMartini, Alessandro...
    10页
查看更多>>摘要:Background: Few studies have investigated alterations of olfactory neuroepithelium (ONE) as a biomarker of schizophrenia, and none its association with cognitive functioning.

Lifestyles and the risk of depression in the "Seguimiento Universidad de Navarra" cohort

    Ruiz-Estigarribia, LizAngel Martinez-Gonzalez, MiguelDiaz-Gutierrez, JesusSanchez-Villegas, Almudena...
    8页
查看更多>>摘要:Background: Lifestyles are involved in the pathogenesis of depression and many of these factors can be modified for the potential prevention of depression. Our aim was to assess the association between a healthy-lifestyle score, that includes some less-studied lifestyle indicators, and the risk of depression.

The economic burden of adult attention deficit hyperactivity disorder: A sibling comparison cost analysis

    Daley, D.Jacobsen, R. H.Lange, A-MSorensen, A....
    8页
查看更多>>摘要:Aim: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a lifespan disorder associated with considerable economic cost. While the economic burden of ADHD has been widely estimated, there is considerable variation in reported costs between studies, which typically focus on health outcomes only, lack adequate control and fail to correct for the influence of genetic and shared environmental factors. The aim of this study is to overcome these limitations to reach a fuller understanding of the economic burden of ADHD.

Suicide ideation severity is associated with severe suicide attempts in a military setting

Fruchter, EyalKedem, RonMann, J. JohnKlomek, Anat Brunstein...
    7页
查看更多>>摘要:Background: There is an ongoing debate on the effectiveness of suicidal behavior prevention measures in the military. The association of three widely used tools with severe suicide attempts was assessed in this setting.

Eating behaviour, behavioural problems and sensory profiles of children with avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID), autistic spectrum disorders or picky eating: Same or different?

Dovey, Terence M.Kumari, VeenaBlissett, JackieGang, Mealtime Hostage Parent Science...
    7页
查看更多>>摘要:Background: Not much is known at present about the behavioural and sensory profiles of children with avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID), the newest addition to the eating disorder diagnostic category in DSM-V. Our aims were to examine eating difficulties, behavioural problems and sensory hypersensitivity in ARFID children, relative to typically developing children with no reported feeding, mental or physical health problems, as well as children with autistic spectrum disorders (ASD; typically associated with a high prevalence of eating problems) or Picky Eating (PE).

Modulation of brain activity with transcranial direct current stimulation: Targeting regions implicated in impaired illness awareness in schizophrenia

Pollock, Bruce G.Remington, GaryKim, JuliaPlitmanc, Eric...
    9页
查看更多>>摘要:Background: Impaired illness awareness or insight into illness (IIA) is a common feature of schizophrenia that contributes to medication nonadherence and poor clinical outcomes. Neuroimaging studies suggest IIA may arise from interhemispheric imbalance in frontoparietal regions, particularly in the posterior parietal area (PPA) and the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (dlPFC). In this pilot study, we examined the effects of transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) on brain regions implicated in IIA.

Physical performance is more strongly associated with cognition in schizophrenia than psychiatric symptoms

    Shin, Ji-HyeonRyu, Jeh-KwangKim, Chan-HyungKim, Jiheon...
    7页
查看更多>>摘要:Background: Although neurocognitive dysfunction and physical performance are known to be impaired in patients with schizophrenia, evidence regarding the relationship between these two domains remains insufficient. Thus, we aimed to investigate the relationship between various physical performance domains and cognitive domains in individuals with schizophrenia, while considering other disorder-related clinical symptoms.
