This research work aims to study the optical properties and radiation shielding performance of tellurite glasses containing Li2O and MoO3 described by the formula of xLi(2)O - 80-2x)TeO2 - (20+x)MoO3, where x = 0, 10, and 20 mol%. The results of the optical studies show that the optical transmission (T) of the studied glass samples increased from 1.21 to 1.42 as the Li2O content increased from 0 to 20 mol%. Such increase was associated with a clear decline in the values of the static dielectric constant of the samples. On the other hand, FLUKA simulation was extensively used to assess and test the radiation shieling performance for each sample involved. The findings of this part reveal that the attenuation factors (e.g. MACs) of LTM glasses varied from 0.038003 cm(2)/g to 0.16151 cm(2)/g for LTM-A, from 0.03813 to 0.15611 cm(2)/g for LTM-B and from 0.03825 cm(2)/g to 0.14948 cm(2)/g for LTM-C. Moreover, the transmission factors (e.g. HVLs) of the LTM glasses were minimum at 0.284 MeV with value of 0.814437 cm, 0.90430 cm and 1.03275 cm for LTM-A, LTM-B and LTM-C, respectively. Finally, a large scale comparison was achieved between the studied glass samples and the commercially available ones for several photon energies. This comparison confirmed the utility of using the present glass samples as transparent shielding materials in several applications whether this is in hospitals or any other technological facilities.

In order to preserve the complete details about the earth's surface, initially texture features are extracted from the multispectral satellite images. Texture features are very important in remotely sensed images, since it has the capability to interpret micro and macro level features present in the images. This method has been effectively tested over multi-temporal LANDSAT data set of Hanoi and Balcoc region of vietnam. Qualitative observations made in the proposed work suggest that the addition of DOOG (Difference of Offset Gaussian) filter and texture features provide improved segmentation results compared to traditional methods. As per the quantitative investigations, the proposed method outperforms other contemporary methods in terms of Random Index (RI), Variance of Information (VOI) and Global Consistency Error (GCE).

In this article, LCT based new convolution and correlation theorems are derived. Also discussed the real Paley-Wiener and Boas theorems, which give a characterization of two classes of functions in terms of the behaviour of their linear canonical transforms.

Two integration schemes, namely unified Riccati equation expansion scheme and an addendum to Kudryashov's approach have made this retrieval possible. Both multiple-core couplers as well as twin-core couplers are considered. A full spectrum of soliton solutions have emerged from these couple of algorithms.

Therefore, researching optical properties of paraffin is of great importance in solar energy applications. In the present work, a double-thickness transmission method for single-layer liquid medium is used for measuring the optical constants of paraffin with different melting point (9#, 18#, 28#and 32#) in the wavelength range from 190 nm to 900 nm. Furthermore, the effect of optical path (10-50 mm) and experimental temperature (45-65 degrees C) are also considered. As the results, the wavelength between 400 nm and 800 nm is high transmittance region of samples, however, the transmittance begins decline in part of infrared (800-900 nm). The transmittance decreases with the increase of optical path but the influence of measured temperature is slightly. The refractive index n and absorption index kappa of samples are 1.15-1.43 and 1.1 x 10-7-3.3 x 10-6, respectively. In addition, as a storage material paraffin has weakest capacity of solar energy absorbed, the highest solar weighted absorption fraction Am only 8.36% by 18# paraffin, thus the absorption of paraffin must be improved.

In this paper, all -optical switches in fiber lasers are investigated analytically. An effective method is suggested to control the related characteristics of all-optical switches through soliton interactions. The effects of corresponding parameters on the performance of all-optical switches are discussed in detail. Results of this paper is helpful to improve the all-optical switching speed and the work efficiency of the all-optical network in nonlinear optics.
