Linear attenuation coefficients (LAC) obtained with Phy-X/PSD and FLUKA code are found to be in good harmony with utmost relative difference < 3.7%. Based upon various parameters investigated, TePr1.2 (with highest amount of praseodymium) is found to be best shielding glass composition among the samples fabricated in this study for gamma-rays as well as charged particle beam of protons. The half value layer for the five glass samples between 0.284 and 2.51 MeV was estimated and we found that the HVL increases in the order TePr1.2, TePr1, TePr0.5, TePr0.2, TePr0. The proposed new glass system is found to have better shielding ability than commercial glasses and bismuth sodium borate glasses. The mass stopping power (MSP) for the tested glasses was reported, and we observed that MSP values for all the TePr glasses are not differing significantly. For protons, the SRIM based MSP values for TePr1.2 rise swiftly from 0.0612 to 0.135 MeV cm2/mg for kinetic energy range 0.01–0.14 MeV then decline slowly upto 0.0183 MeV cm2/ mg at 10 MeV.

查看更多>>摘要:? 2022 Elsevier GmbHWe propose a new structure of high-quality few-mode core and tapered single-mode core to design a six-spatial-mode multiplexer with operating widthband. Using the finite element method(FEM) and the beam propagation method(BPM), the influence of various parameters on the mode coupling effect is studied. By optimizing the parameters, efficient mode coupling effect and good tolerance ability are obtained. Numerical calculation results show that the average coupling efficiencies of the LP11(LP11a and LP11b), LP21(LP21a and LP21b) and LP02 modes in the mode multiplexer are all greater than 90% in the S+C+L band. The core-related parameters have good tolerance, which will greatly reduce the difficulty of device fabrication. The designed mode multiplexer can be applied to MDM system to solve the problem of fiber capacity limitation.

Orbital and spin angular momentum Raman scattering of methanol, benzene, hexane, and carbon tetrachloride liquids

查看更多>>摘要:? 2022 Elsevier GmbHSpontaneous Raman spectra using Orbital angular momentum (OAM) and Spin angular momentum (SAM) from organic liquids with circularly polarized Laguerre-Gaussian (L= 1 and 2) were experimentally observed. Certain Raman peaks from vibrational bonds under circularly polarized OAM L= 1 and L= 2 mainly for CH3, and C-C arising from pi and sigma bonds were enhanced or decreased relative to the Raman of a Gaussian beam with L= 0. For example, methanol shows changes for circularly polarized OAM Raman ranging from 4.5% to 66.8% for different vibrational modes. The relevant enhancement and decrease in the Raman intensity from the various studied liquids are attributed to the matching up of the multipoles from the vibrational orbital structure from electron clouds symmetry with the multipoles of the OAM light. For example, Methanol and Hexane are more dipole-like (L=1); while Benzene is more quadrupole-like (L=2), and Carbon Tetrachloride is more monopole-like (L=0) in the interaction with L for OAM beams. In summary, we show that the use of OAM and SAM offers a new approach for larger changes of the Raman effect in contrast to circular dichroism and Raman optical activity methods, which have changes of less than 10?4.

查看更多>>摘要:? 2022 Elsevier GmbHThis work aimed PVA nanofibers in a range of concentrations were successfully manufactured via electrospinning. PVA NFs/Si was effectively prepared using the electrospinning process. The structural, morphological, optical and electrical properties of the prepared PVA were studied using XRD, FE-SEM, UV-Vis spectrophotometer and I-V characteristics, respectively. The amorphous structure of PVA nanofibers was observed. The optical energy gap from ultraviolet to visible was between (2.75 and 2.41) eV, making this compound highly sensitive to visible orange light at 610 nm, with a photosensitivity of 66%. The optical energy gap of PVA/Si heterojunction was utilized to modify this film from the UV to the visible spectrum. As show in the results, PVA NFs/Si appears to be a possible candidate for high-performance photosensitivity applications in optoelectronics.

查看更多>>摘要:? 2022 Elsevier GmbHA plasmonic absorber composed of a sandwich structure based on a fan-like metasurface with three blades has been proposed. The multiple resonance modes are analyzed based on the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method by comparing electric field distributions between the unit of absorber with three blades and one individual blade, which proved that the three blades of metasurface can separately excite three absorption peaks in terahertz (THz) band. The influence of the geometry configurations on the resonance modes have also been studied, including radius of blades, the thickness of the top metal layer, and period of unit. The resonance frequencies can be easily tuned by changing the radius of metasurface unit. The proposed plasmonic absorber has potential for THz imaging and sensing applications.

Motions of bright soliton in spin-tensor-momentum coupled spin-1 Bose–Einstein condensates

查看更多>>摘要:? 2022 Elsevier GmbHWe have explored the motion of bright solitons in one-dimensional spin-1 Bose–Einstein condensates subjected to a spin-tensor-momentum coupling. By using the variational approach, we derive the motion equations of soliton's amplitude, momentum and center of mass, which shows clearly that these parameters are coupled with each other by spin-tensor-momentum coupling and Raman coupling. We find that the motion of soliton can be viewed as the superposition between the linear motion and periodical oscillation motion, where the velocity of linear motion and the oscillation frequency are related to the spin-tensor-momentum coupling and Raman coupling. These findings reveal unique features of solitons affected by the spin-tensor-momentum coupling.

Image dehazing based on polarization information and deep prior learning

查看更多>>摘要:? 2022 Elsevier GmbH(objective)Generally, images taken under hazy weather have lower visibility and contrast. Therefore, how to improve their visibility and contrast and recover the image information is critical. Various dehazing algorithms have been proposed based on light intensity information. However, these methods mostly lack sufficient scattering information about atmospheric particles. Polarization supplies extra information independent of intensity, which can be used to effectively remove scattered light from haze particles, making it possible to help image dehazing. (methods)Therefore, this paper proposes a new image dehazing algorithm based on polarization information and deep prior learning (polarization-based unsupervised dehazing network, PUDN). Polarization information can provide more information about the image, while prior knowledge can constrain and optimize the network. This algorithm can remove haze without pretraining or corresponding ground-truth image. (result)Experimental results show that introducing polarization information and prior knowledge can improve the visibility and contrast of haze images, significantly improve haze image quality. Among them, the visible edge of heavy-haze image is improved by 71% on average, and the contrast is improved by 31 %. The dehazing performance is superior to that of traditional and supervised learning methods. Our method provides a new direction for image dehazing processing.

Robustness of a teleported state influenced by dipole interaction and magnetic field under intrinsic decoherence

查看更多>>摘要:? 2022 Elsevier GmbHA pair of entangled states is teleported through a class of a two-qubit XYZ-Heisenberg chain model in the presence of dipole–dipole interaction and magnetic field. The exact solution of the teleportation channel is obtained via using the intrinsic decoherence master equation. The dynamics of the teleported entanglement, quantum steering, and degree of non-locality are studied. It is found that the setting parameter of the input state plays a central role in the robustness of quantum correlations, where these correlations increase as the input state exists maximally entangled state. The increase in strength of the channel's parameters restrains the three kinds of quantum correlations, where the small values of dipole–dipole, magnetic field, and decoherence parameters improve the quantum correlation of teleported state. The hierarchy of the three quantum correlations is satisfied for small values of channel parameters, while entanglement, steering, and non-locality are significantly identical at large values of these parameters.
