This paper documents the mobilization of a group of women in favour of gender diversity in public spaces, especially cafés. Drawing on a survey conducted through participant observation and interviews, this research documents the spatial dimension of this activist movement, showing the role of space in the repertoires of collective action. It explores the scales of activism, highlighting how it operates across multiple scales between local embeddedness and global projection. Finally, the paper analyses how this collective action connects with the dynamics of gentrification underway in the town of Aubervilliers, by exploring how the histories of the Collective’s members reveal the norms of a renewed form of urban citizenship, norms that sometimes clash with certain working-class uses of urban public space.

They represent practices that question not only the agonistic dimension of space and its government, but also the renewed relationship to forms of power and democracy. This contribution aims to question the spatial dimension of these democratic experiments using two perspectives: the perspective of the democratic paths they open and the perspective of the legal innovations they produce, in particular in terms of law. The study of the case of the city of Naples and its 11 spaces managed by several collectives of inhabitants will allow us to show how the practices of civic management of these spaces have gone from a logic that could be described as squatting, occupation or conflict, to a logic of standing up, resistance and insurgency. These occupied and self-managed spaces were recognized by a municipal council deliberation which granted them the legal status of common goods ? for civic use ?. We will show that such legal institutionalization makes these spaces real ? standards of recognition ? allowing the legislator to identify the goods that are used for the exercise of fundamental rights and socially important needs. In this way, the legal norm is produced by the (liberated) spaces and their use (deliberation and self-management). The Neapolitan case was analysed from the twin perspectives of deliberative activism and legal experimentation. It allowed us to show that forms of protest action and thinking can be linked to ambitious and innovative deliberative practices.

The mimicry of the forms of the city cannot, however, obscure the singularity of the growth models prevailing on both sides of the Pacific, nor their competitive dimension. This article, which provides a careful decryption of the sources of growth in the two cities, highlights the existence of individualized urban capitalisms and invites a nuanced and updated reading of the effects of globalization.

It then presents the different forms of construction of the fisheries area, and sets out an analysis of sustainability of artisanal fishing activity in the face of the rise of new industrial constraints and spatial transformations of fishmen societies. The plurifunctionality of the coastal area gives in this document all the importance of the involvement of geographical approaches. These methods contribute to a better understanding of the dynamics of endogenous and exogenous actors that make up the different fishing systems of coastal regions of the Littoral and South Cameroon.

They chose to resort to the expertise of foreign urban engineering to define projects which would have an international influence and to make local public structures evolve towards better quality of urban production. According to many researchers, the use of the know-how of transnational urban professionals contributes to the transposition of “standard methods” from one place to another, independently of the local context. The case of the Bay of Algiers project is a good example: the operational set-up claimed by the transnational designers of the project very quickly came up against local administrative rigidities. Consensus on the adaptation of the proposed measures will be reached as the project moves from design to implementation. The aim of this article is to highlight the transformations of Algerian urban production induced by the integration of transnational actors, through the analysis of the management of the Bay of Algiers project.
