In order to achieve high dielectric loss, a graphene film reduced graphene oxide-N doped graphene (rGO-NG) was constructed from graphene oxide-Ni@polydopamine (GO-Ni@PDA) via the in situ synthesis of hollow graphene spheres between graphene sheets. This in situ was achieved by means of electrostatic self-assembly and metal-catalyzed crystallization. Owing to the synergetic effect of multi-nanocavities and multi-defects, the prepared rGO-NG film shows an average shielding effectiveness (SE) of 50.0 dB in the range of 8.2-12.4 GHz with a thickness of 12.2 mu m, and the SE reflection is only 7.3 dB on average. It also exhibits an average dielectric loss tangent (tan delta) of 23.1, which is 26 and 105 times higher than those of rGO and rGO-Ni, respectively. This work provides a simple but effective route to develop high performance graphene-based materials for application as an electromagnetic interference shielding film in today's electronic devices.

However, its behavior of photonic spin hall effect remains largely unexplored. In this work, we have theoretically observed that bilayer graphene has two obvious discontinuities but monolayer graphene only has a single step in the spectra of the spin shifts as a function of wavelength at the Brewster angle over the midinfrared frequency range, which enables a possible route of distinguishing monolayer graphene and bilayer graphene. Additionally, the magnitudes and positions of the peak and valley values in the spectrum of spin shifts of bilayer graphene can be tuned by its Fermi energy. We also achieved the enhanced out-of-pane spin shift of the glass-AB stacking bilayer graphene-air structure at both the Brewster angle (33.55 degrees) and the critical angle (41.31 degrees) with the aid of the high order of Laguerre-Gaussian beam. The realization of large and controlled spin shift in bilayer graphene indicates its promising applications in precision measurements and refractive index sensors at the midinfrared frequency region.

While SERS offers significant benefits over traditional Raman spectroscopy, certain hindrances have limited their commercial use, especially in settings where low limits of detection are necessary. We studied a variety of laser-deposited silver microstructured SERS substrates with different morphology as a means to optimize analyte detection. We found that using a 405 nm laser to deposit lines of silver nanoparticles (AgNPS) from a 2 mM silver nitrate and sodium citrate solution offered not only the best enhancement, but also the most consistent and reproducible substrates. We also found that the probability of deposition by laser was wavelength dependent and that longer wavelengths were less likely to deposit than shorter wavelengths. This work offers a better understanding of the laser deposition process as well as how substrate shape and structure effect SERS signals.

查看更多>>摘要:This work evaluates the passivation efficacy of thermal atomic layer deposited (ALD) Al2O3 dielectric layer on self-catalyzed GaAs1-x Sb (x) nanowires (NWs) grown using molecular beam epitaxy. A detailed assessment of surface chemical composition and optical properties of Al2O3 passivated NWs with and without prior sulfur treatment were studied and compared to as-grown samples using x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Raman spectroscopy, and low-temperature photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy. The XPS measurements reveal that prior sulfur treatment followed by Al2O3 ALD deposition abates III-V native oxides from the NW surface. However, the degradation in 4K-PL intensity by an order of magnitude observed for NWs with Al2O3 shell layer compared to the as-grown NWs, irrespective of prior sulfur treatment, suggests the formation of defect states at the NW/dielectric interface contributing to non-radiative recombination centers. This is corroborated by the Raman spectral broadening of LO and TO Raman modes, increased background scattering, and redshift observed for Al2O3 deposited NWs relative to the as-grown. Thus, our work seems to indicate the unsuitability of ALD deposited Al2O3 as a passivation layer for GaAsSb NWs.

Conjugation of scFvD2B to gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) would enhance its stability and plasma half-life circulation to shuttle theranostic agents in PC. In this study, we synthesized PEGylated scFvD2B-AuNPs (AuNPs-scFvD2B-PEG) and tested their integrity, biocompatibility, and immunogenicity in freshly withdrawn human blood. Prior to blood incubation, Zeta potential measurements, UV-Vis spectroscopy, and dynamic light scattering (DLS) were used to assess the physicochemical properties of our nano-complexes in the presence or absence of PEGylation. A surface plasmon resonance band shift of 2 and 4 nm confirmed the successful coating for AuNPs-scFvD2B and AuNPs-scFvD2B-PEG, respectively. Likewise, DLS revealed a size increase of similar to 3 nm for AuNPs-scFvD2B and similar to 19 nm for AuNPs-scFvD2B-PEG. Zeta potential increased from -34 to -19 mV for AuNPs-scFvD2B and reached -3 mV upon PEGylation. Similar assessment measures were applied post-incubation in human blood with additional immunogenicity tests, such as hemolysis assay, neutrophil function test, and pyridine formazan extraction. Interestingly, grafting PEG chains on AuNPs-scFvD2B precluded the binding of blood plasma proteins and reduced neutrophil activation level compared with naked AuNPs-citrate counterparts. Most likely, a hydrated negative PEG cloud shielded the NPs rendering blood compatiblility with less than 10% hemolysis. In conclusion, the biocompatible AuNPs-scFvD2B-PEG presents promising characteristics for PC targeted therapy, with minimal protein adsorption affinity, low immunorecognition, and reduced hemolytic activity.

查看更多>>摘要:Herein, we design to synthesize a novel Cu2O/ZnO/kaolinite composite catalyst by co-precipitation method. The synthesized composite catalysts were labeled as 5CZK, 10CZK, 15CZK, and 20CZK which represent 5, 10, 15, and 20% of Cu2O, respectively, on ZnO/kaolinite. The photocatalyst samples were characterized with different instruments. Moreover, the methylene blue (MB) dye was used as a target organic pollutant and the degradation was evaluated under visible light irradiation. The highest performance for the degradation of MB was achieved by 10CZK catalyst and degrades 93% within 105 min. However, ZnO (Z), Cu2O/ZnO (CZ), 5CZK, 15CZK, and 20CZK composite catalysts, degrades 28, 66, 76, 71, and 68% of MB dye, respectively. The enhanced degradation efficiency of 10CZK composites catalyst could be due to the higher adsorption properties from metakaolinite and the light-responsive properties of the Cu2O/ZnO samples under visible light. Hence, the resulting composite catalyst could be applicable for environmental remediation.

However, the relationship between the adsorbed metal content and catalytic performance of the resulting nanomaterials is unclear. In this work, Pichia pastoris residues was utilized to adsorb Ce(III) at different metal ion concentrations, and then CeO2@C nanomaterials were prepared by pyrolysis. The effects of solution pH and adsorption behavior were investigated. The prepared nanostructures were characterized using electron microscopy and different spectroscopy methods, and their catalytic performances in the removal of salicylic acid from solution by catalytic ozonation were invested. The microbial residue had a metal uptake of 172.00 +/- 2.82 mg center dot g(-1) at pH 6. In addition, the efficiency of total organic carbon (TOC) removal increased from 21.54% to 34.10% with an increase in metal content in the catalysts from 0 mg center dot g(-1) to 170.05 mg center dot g(-1). After pyrolysis, the absorbed Ce(III) metal transformed to CeO2 metal nanoparticles embedded in a carbon matrix and had a core-shell CeO2@C structure. Therefore, this work not only reveals a relationship between metal content and catalytic performance, but also provides an approach for studying performance of materials with different metal contents loaded on various carriers.

However, the commercial applications of lead-based perovskite devices are restricted due to the poor ambient stability and toxicity of lead. The encapsulation of lead-based devices can reduce the possible leakage of lead. However, it is hard to ensure safety during large-scale production and long-term storage. Recently, considerable efforts have been made to design lead-free perovskites for different optoelectronic applications. Metal halide double perovskites with the general formula of A(2)M(I)M(III)X(6) or A(2)M(IV)X(6) could be potentially considered as green and stable alternatives for different optoelectronic applications. In this review article, we focus on the recent progress and findings on lead-free halide double perovskites for x-ray and UV-vis photodetection applications. Lead-free halide double perovskite has recently drawn a great deal of attention for superior x-ray detection due to its high absorption coefficient, large carrier mobility-lifetime product, and large bulk resistance. In addition, these materials exhibit good performance in photodetection in the UV-vis region due to high photocarrier generation and efficient carrier separation. In this review, first, we define the characteristics of lead-free double perovskite materials. The fundamental characteristics and beneficial properties of halide perovskites for direct and indirect x-ray detection are then discussed. We comprehensively review recent developments and efforts on lead-free double perovskite for x-ray detection and UV-vis photodetection. We bring out the current challenges and opportunities in the field and finally present the future outlook for developing lead-free double perovskite-based x-ray and UV-vis photodetectors for practical applications.

Due to the higher absorption intensity of our MoS2/MXene nanocomposite, we have successfully shortened the pulse duration (1.2 mu s) of SA with enhancing saturable absorption intensity (7.22 MW cm(-2)), and the ultra-fast fiber laser based on this nanocomposite SA has shown wider Q-switching stable range in the case of high pump power. This strategy can efficiently improve the performance of SA and shows the potential application prospect of nanocomposites in nonlinear optics.
