    GIS and Time Series Modelling Approach to Predict Tropospheric Nitrogen Dioxide

Auto-Regressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) model approach was used in this study for time series analysis of NO2 concentration in Punjab region, India. Kriging Spatial Interpolation method was also used. This study integrated the satellite observed data with statistical methods. The predicted NO2 concentration was used for spatial distribution and estimation of NO2 . OMI satellite data for tropospheric NO2 from the year 2012 to 2019 were used to make a forecast of NO2 concentrations for the year 2020. The R2 value showed good agreement between the observed and predicted concentrations of NO2 in both the approaches.

    Genetic Identification of Bacteria Producing Antibacterial Agent Isolation from Soil and Study of their Effectiveness as Antioxidants

Three isolates were identified for their antibacterial activity against pathogenic bacteria through primary screening protocol and on their inhibitory activity against the pathogenic bacteria. These were tested for their antibacterial activity through secondary screening protocol. These isolates were identified and diagnosed using many physiological, biochemical tests and amplification of 16S rRNA gene sequence. The isolates were identified as Bacillus subtilis (B1) and two Bacillus polymyxa (B4) and (B7). These had high inhibitory activity against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus with inhibition zone reaching to 34 mm and less activity against Klebsiella pneumonia and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. B1 isolate was characterized by greater inhibitory activity against pathogenic bacteria. The antibacterial agents that produced by these isolates were characterized by three different methods. First: The ultraviolet spectroscopy (UV) for measuring the λmax, the results showing the range of this assay from 234 to 350 nm. Second: Infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) in the range from 400 to 4000/cm. Third: Liquid chromatography by mass spectrometer analysis. The effect of temperature on the growth of the two isolates showed that they were developing well in temperature 40 and 45°. Both isolates were unable to grow at a temperature of 5°C and the effect of salinity on the growth of the isolates showed that they were developing well in 3% NaCl concentration. Only B1 was able to grow till 6% NaCl concentration, while both isolates were unable to grow at 10% concentration of sodium chloride. Activity of antioxidant was determined by using DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl). The extract bacterial had the highest antioxidant activity with median effective dose (IC50) as 5.24±8.0 μg/ml.

    Control of Spodoptera littoralis (Boisd.) Larvae Using Bioactive Chromone Derivative Isolated from Ruta angustifolia (Pers.)

All rights reserved.The present work is the first isolation of a chromone derivative, 2-(2-methoxyphenylethyl)-4H-chromen-4-one from the acetonic extract of Ruta angustifolia leaves using thin-layer chromatography and then identified by infrared and mass spectrometry. Results showed that 2-(2-methoxyphenylethyl)-4H-chromen-4-one possessed larvicidal activity against the fourth instar larvae of S. littoralis, which fed on treated leaves under laboratory conditions. LC50 values indicated abnormalities in the epithelial cells, muscles and microvilli using a transmission electron microscope in treated compared to untreated larvae. Moreover, a significant reduction was recorded in both the chitinase enzyme and total lipid content compared to the control. Overall the findings of the study suggest that the use of 2-(2-methoxyphenylethyl)-4H-chromen-4-one can act as a new insecticidal agent for controlling the cotton leaf worm (S. littoralis).

    Excessive Scum Generation Consequences on Performance of Biogas Power Plant under Unregulated Alkanity

After the scumming events, the significant declination in overall performance of biogas plant was observed. In this research work, the critical experimentations were done on full scale biodigester from June 2017 to March 2019. The critical experimentations concluded the direct influence of the excessive scum formation on biogas generations, methane contents, pH of process and TSS contents. During the hot summer months, cold months of winters, rainy seasons and during the sudden change in a day temperatures the excessive scum formations occurred which hampered the overall performance of the biogas plant. The yield of biogas generation was reduced to 60% than normal biogas generations. The methane contents were only limited to 42%. pH was reported up to 6.1 only. Total solid contents were limited to only 1% which were expected to be 5 to 8%.

Cardiotocography (CTG) is a technique used for monitoring fetal heart rate. It is widely used to ensure fetal well-being during pregnancies at high risk. Use of machine-learning techniques automated this task and reduced the chances of diagnostic errors. Deep learning also has powerful algorithms for learning complicated characteristics and higher-level semantics. The principal objective of this paper was to dissect the boundaries of different classification algorithms and contrast their prescient exactnesses to discover the best classifier for ordering fetal well-being.

    Serum T.Ca, PO4=, Mg+2, Na+ and K+ in T2DM Patient

The patients with diabetes are commonly caused by electrolyte disorders such as calcium ion (Ca+2 ), phosphate (PO4= ), magnesium (Mg+2 ), sodium (Na+) and potassium (K+ ). Sixty-five patients participated in this study. Their ages ranged between 45-60 years and the mean of BMI to patients 23.55±4.56. The mean of random blood glucose (RBG) and HbA1c was 288.42±68.63 mg/dl, 9.08±1.9%, respectively. In contrast, apparently 30 people were selected as a control group. Their age range was comparable to that of patients and the mean of BMI equal 22.94±3.15. The mean of RBG and HbA1c was 101.9±11.18 mg/dl and 5.03±0.63%, respectively. Five electrolytes were measured [serum total calcium (T.Ca), PO4=, Mg+2, Na+ and K+] by spectrophotometer methods. There was a significant increase in serum T.Ca, PO4 = and K+ in diabetes patients, while no significant difference in Mg+2 and Na+ with healthy group. Increased serum T.Ca formed Ca+2-channels disorder or kidney diseases and metabolic disorders caused defect in serum T.Ca and PO4=. The insulin deficiency and healthy diet increased serum K+, finally uncontrolled blood glucose affecting many tissues and organs that affect electrolytes level.

    Marketing of Tomato in Kolar District of Karnataka, India

All rights reserved.Horticultural sector in the recent years made remarkable achievement in terms of augmentation in area and production under different crops, enhancement in productivity, crop diversification, technological interventions for production, post-harvest and marketing channels. The present study was an attempt to study the marketing channels, marketing cost, marketing margin, marketing efficiency and producers’ share in consumers in rupee for tomato crop. Primary data were collected from farmers and market intermediaries from Kolar district of Karnataka. Results suggested that four different marketing channels prevailied in the study area for movement of tomato from producers to consumers. Out of these channels, channel-I (organised sector) was identified as more efficient and higher share of producers’ share i n consumers’ rupee than the other marketing channels. Therefore, from the study it was concluded that there was inverse relationship between number of market intermediaries and marketing efficiency and producers’ share in consumers’ rupee.

    Isolation and Characterization of Starch from Kodo Millet (Paspalum scrobiculatum)

Isolated starch from kodo millet was investigated for functional, thermal (DSC) and textural (Texture analyzer) properties. Protein content of kodo millet was comparable to finger and fonio millets but lower than pearl and foxtail millets. Starch yield was significantly higher (65%) with some non-starch compounds. Values of water binding capacity, swelling power, viscosity and dispersibility were moderate but fat absorption capacity and solubility percentage were low as compared to pearl millet starch. Kodo starch had high range of gelatinization temperature in comparison with other millets such as finger, pearl and foxtail. Textural properties of kodo millet starch were also superior to other starches such as wheat and cassava. Additionally, this starch had moderate springiness, cohesiveness and hardness as compared to the above-mentioned starches. There is a scope of studying molecular characterization, pasting and structural properties and relationship among fractions of kodo millet starch.

    Linking Socio-Demographic Profile and Attribute Preference of Branded Dairy Consumers with Communication Effectiveness of Branded Dairy Products

All rights reserved.Companies adopt standardized product and communication strategies, largely ignoring the need for customer profiling and understanding consumer preferences. The present paper seeked to understand the socio-demographic profile of dairy customers, their attribute preferences, and sources of brand awareness to enable dairy marketers to design an effective communication strategy. A multi-method research approach was adopted in the present study conducted in Uttar Pradesh. The study concluded that the companies’ communication efforts were inadequate and the awareness level of consumers was dismal. The pull generated by the dairy companies in the market was deficient. Examination of the socio-demographic profile of dairy consumers presented significant implications for marketers. The study of preference of attributes regarding the purchase of dairy products indicated that dairy being a food item, attributes validating the aptness of consumption were given preference over price, place and promotion. Quality taste, freshness, and flavour were the most sought-after attributes for all dairy items under study.

    Experience of Fir Tree Extract Application for Prevention of Gastrointestinal Tract Diseases in Newborn Calves (Prevention of Calf Dispepsy)

All rights reserved.The aim of the research was to study the use of fir tree extract (Pikhteks) in calves from 14 to 28 days of age for prevention of gastrointestinal tract diseases. The studies were carried out for 14 days. The results showed that the introduction of Pichteks into the diet of calves did not negatively affect the physiological state of the animals. Appetite was preserved, body temperature, respiratory rate and heart rate remained within the physiological norm for the entire period of the experiment. Hematological studies showed no changes in the direction of pathology in the calves of the experimental group, so the number of erythrocytes ranged from 7.7±0.38 to 8.33±0.20 1012 /l; leukocytes from 9.31±0.12 to 8.17±0.38 109 /l and hemoglobin from 110.33±4.97 to 111.3±1.88 g/l. A slight increase in these indicators corresponded to the age of the calves. In biochemical blood tests and in the leukocyte formula, there was no significant difference in the indicators. However, in the control group on the 3rd day of the study (age 17 days) two calves fell ill with dyspepsia. The disease was difficult and one calf died. In the experimental group, the survival rate of calves was 100%.
