Devenish will enter India with an initial investment of 10 million dollars through the Mauritius route for exploration, prospecting and mining of gold and base metals.Rama Mines (Mauritius) Ltd, a group outfit of Australian Indian Resources Company controlled by Mr Devenish, has applied to the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) to buy out 89.36 per cent stake in Wimper Trades Ltd (WTL) for a consideration of Rs 40.5 lakh and invest a further amount of 10 million dollars for mining gold and base metals. Wimper Trades is a Kanoria group company listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and is currently engaged in the business of commission agent and wholesale trading.
