Distinct AE waveforms depending on specific filiform morphology were uncovered. By contrast, electrochemical corrosion behavior of AZ31 alloy during potentiodynamic polarization test in NaCl solution was observed to be localized corrosion, consisting of a series of filiform corrosion of approx. 150μm, which produced AE signals of 100 - 550 kHz.
