This is thanks to emergent technologies such as Bluetooth Low Energy, Radio-Frequency Identification, and Ultra-WideBand (UWB) among others. In the present study; the authors provide a method for using a Geographic Information System (GIS) to define spatial constraints, in order to simulate the lines of sight of anchors to make an informed selection of adequate locations for installation. By leveraging GIS, researchers or enterprises can improve the installation process by reducing costs while setting up arrangements that will ensure reliable data collection. We include a scenario illustrating the possibility of budget reduction of around 30% related to the orientation and survey of the devices.

This paper presents a new multimodal biometric system using intelligent technique to authenticate human by fusion of finger and dorsal hand veins pattern. We developed an image analysis technique to extract region of interest (ROI) from finger and dorsal hand veins image. After extracting ROI we design a sequence of preprocessing steps to improve finger and dorsal hand veins images using Median filter, Wiener filter and Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE) to enhance vein image. Our smart technique is based on the following intelligent algorithms, namely; principal component analysis (PCA) algorithm for feature extraction and k-Nearest Neighbors (K-NN) classifier for matching operation. The database chosen was the Shandong University Machine Learning and Applications - Homologous Multi-modal Traits (SDUMLA-HMT) and Bosphorus Hand Vein Database. The achieved result for the fusion of both biometric traits was Correct Recognition Rate (CRR) is 96.8%.

This is particularly true for LDA-based methods because the amount of information available from pertweet statistical analysis is severely limited. In this paper we present LDA2Vec paired with temporal tweet pooling (LDA2Vec-TTP) and assess its performance on this problem relative to traditional LDA and to Biterm Topic Model (Biterm), which was developed specifically for topic modeling on short text documents. We paired each of the three topic modeling algorithms with three tweet pooling schemes: no pooling, authorbased pooling, and temporal pooling. We then conducted topic modeling on two Twitter datasets using each of the algorithms and the tweet pooling schemes. Our results on the largest dataset suggest that LDA2Vec-TTP can produce higher coherence scores and more logically coherent and interpretable topics.

A Generic Model for Swarm Intelligence and Its Validations

However, existing approaches fail to capture the nature of swarm intelligence and they are either too abstract for practical application or not generic enough to describe the various types of emergence phenomena. In this paper, a contradiction-centric model for swarm intelligence is proposed, in which individuals determine their behaviors based on their internal contradictions whilst they associate and interact to update their contradictions. The model hypothesizes that 1) the emergence of swarm intelligence is rooted in the development of individuals' internal contradictions and the interactions taking place between individuals and the environment, and 2) swarm intelligence is essentially a combinative reflection of the configurations of individuals' internal contradictions and the distributions of these contradictions across individuals. The model is formally described and five swarm intelligence systems are studied to illustrate its broad applicability. The studies confirm the generic character of the model and its effectiveness for describing the emergence of various kinds of swarm intelligence; and they also demonstrate that the model is straightforward to apply, without the need for complicated computations.

An ANN and Virtual Vector Function Approach for the Computation of the Inverse Kinematics of Redundant Manipulators

This problem normally has an infinite number of solutions. Several conventional approaches based on numerical methods have been proposed over the years. However, it is well known that ANN implementations for the solution of the problem for redundant manipulators are inefficient since they lead to inaccurate solutions. The main issue on the implementation of ANN solutions is that an attempt is made on mapping a relation from a given number of variables in the manipulator task space to a larger number of variables in the joint space. This Paper proposes the inclusion of a virtual vector function in the task space to "complete" it; so that the number of variables in the task space is at least equal to the number of variables in the joint space. Here, the proposed approach is successfully tested on a 3 DOF planar redundant manipulator performing four diverse target trajectories inside the manipulator's workspace. Additionally, in order to define the target trajectories, some manipulator's links limitations are considered and some conditions are set for the target trajectories.

查看更多>>摘要:A couple of new dynamic CMOS based designs of an 8-bit priority resolver corresponding to active-high and active-low logic are presented in this paper. The proposed designs result from modifications to an 8- bit priority resolver designed by Huang and Chang, which pertains to active-high logic. Compared to Huang and Chang's original 8-bit CMOS priority resolver, the modified designs achieve 4× mean reduction in power dissipation, and report average improvement in the power-delay product by 43%. The simulation results were obtained using Tanner tools (TSPICE), and correspond to a 0.25μm CMOS process technology.

We consider a novel linear precoding technique to cannel the interferences which is bring about by the CBS's transmission. Three theorems about the design of the precoding and decoding matrices are put forward. With the linear precoding and decoding, the BER performance of the PBS and CBS are improved significantly. At the same time, the capacity of the PBS and CBS channels are analyzed.

Statistics of the Channel Capacity in a Cellular DS/FFH-CDMA Rayleigh Fading System

Then, the analysis leads to a theoretical novelclosed form expression for the pdf of the channel capacity, which relates the pdf of the channel capacity per user and all system's parameters. In addition, the probability that the channel capacity per user does not exceed the available average channel capacity per user, in a Rayleigh fading environment, is calculated and respective numerical results are presented to investigate the sensitivity of this probability value from various system's parameters. Finally, the derived expression can be useful for the initial practical design of a DS/FFHCDMA cellular system and for a quantitative analysis.

Modeling the value chain with object-valued Petri Nets

This process can be described as a value chain, which can be considered as a cyclic model with complex attributes. There is a serious problem how to express resources and their conversions in a complex cyclic model during the simulation and how to identify these converted resources in every step of the simulation. This paper introduces the Objectvalued Petri (OV-PN) modification as a new formalism to create a cyclic model of the value chain. According to the modification we had to define a new path and pass of the OV-PN. We also had to determine new properties. Properties are based on the OV-PN and reflect needs of model requirements. A new formalism is verified on a common enterprise value chain.

Technical communications among appropriate information can create new categories of applications and services. Today, IoT is considered a suitable infrastructure technology for low-range wireless home control systems. In fact, smart homes and buildings provide a wide range of services, applications, equipment, networks, and systems that work together to provide an intelligent environment in areas such as security, control, communications, leisure, and comfort. The purpose of this research is an implementation of an IoT-based Smart home system that provides remote access control for disabled people to open the door lock and turn on or off the lights. Besides, this IoT-based smart home system was extended with two 2-Channel Relay Modules, which assign four keys to direct different components. In addition, this system offers a safe home environment that monitored any hazardous gas leakage, smoke, and fire, or unauthorized person. The motion sensor with a dual purpose has a bright feature that enables two applications: Energy Management System and Security System. Moreover, there are three options for users to open the door for authorized people: Using the Android application on their smartphones, voice command via Google assistant, and the "Unlock door pattern." Authorized people such as friends and family, caregivers, or dog walkers, can unlock the door by physically entering the key pattern via embedded switch buttons (doorbell, B, and C). The camera in this project gets activated as soon as someone rings the doorbell; a snapshot of the current situation behind the door will be sent to the registered user with a notification email. If the entered key pattern does not match the "Unlock door pattern," the alarm system will be triggered. The significance of this research is to provide a solution to help disabled people to live as conveniently and safely as possible in their homes.
