Muller was very brief and type material was not deposited. Based on the literature the confusion about the identity of the species has been tremendous; e.g., it was only recently realized that at least two different species from the North and Baltic Seas could be identified as S. fdicornis (Bick et al. 2010). The present study is based on material collected by the authors in 2009 at the type locality in Iluilarssuk, near Paamiut, SW Greenland. Spio filicornis is rede-scribed in detail and illustrated comprehensively. A neotype has been designated and deposited in the collection of Rostock University. Species formerly referred to as S. cf. filicornis from the North and Baltic Seas (Bick et al. 2010) are formally described as two new species, Spio arndti sp. nov., and S. symphyta sp. nov. The morphological diagnostic characters within Spio are discussed. Informationon three molecular markers (16S rDNA, 18S rDNA, cytochrome c oxidase subunit I) is also provided. The genetic divergence between the three Spio species corroborates the taxonomic discrimination.

A re-examination of type specimens confirms the synonymy of P. raddei and Ischnothele strandi Spassky, 1937, but the synonymy of Afghanothele lindbergi Roewer, 1960 and A. striatipes Roewer, 1960 cannot be confirmed due to the immature state of their types. The copulatory organs of the female holotype and other females from different localities are illustrated for the first time. Variation in morphological characters is shown. New records are given for Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan. Phyxioschema females from Pakistan cannot be attributed to any nominal species and are left unnamed. A new species, P. roxana, is described from male and female specimens collected at eight localities in southern Uzbekistan and western Tajikistan. Relationships between Central Asian and Southeast Asian species are discussed. A summary of relevant morphological characters of all Phyxioschema species is given.

This species differs from all other congeners except G. seshachari Ravichandran, Gower & Wilkinson, 2003 in lacking secondary annular grooves and possessing an unsegmented terminal 'shield'. It differs from G. seshachari in having many more primary annuli and a distinct colour pattern with a largely un-pigmented head and pale anterior body.

Eutobrilus mirandus sp. n. differs from all other species of the genus Eutobrilus by the markedly anterior position of the vulva (V=26-31%). The new species is similar toE. andrassyi Altherr, 1963 in body size and stoma structure but differs in the comparatively thicker body (males, a = 3>2-A5 versus a = 60-75), shorter stoma (males, 26-27 um long versus 35-40 \im long), longer spicules (48-53 urn versus 40 urn), and absence of crystalloids. A redescription and new illustrations of Paratrilobus delicatus (Shoshin, 1988) Andrassy, 2007, including a description of the previously unknown females, are also given.
